Icon 99 - 100 (Outlook Bonus Icons)

Yesterday we did the PST file, today we will do a little bonus pack to go with it. In the earlier in the pack we did a Word Document and a bonus pack. This will be almost exactly the same.

We only have a few more default file types left. We should be wrapping up the pack over the next week or so. Keep checking in as we get ready to package the fruits of our labors.

Step 1:

We start by making a copy of our Open Folder icon.

Step 2:

Now we copy our PST file from yesterday, remove the Outlook logo, and using the Perspective Tool we lay the file down inside the folder.

Step 3:

Now we copy Outlook overlay from the PST file and place it in front of the folder. I also Crop the existing reflection to fit the front of the folder.

Step 4:

Now using our Reflection Techniques I make a new reflection for the folder and icon.

Step 5:

I crop the Reflection, and using the Interactive Transparency tool I fade out our reflection.

Step 1b:

Now we want to make an Outlook icon. We start with our existing logo, remove the existing bevel and use the Perspective Tool to set the standard perspective.

Step 2b:

Now we give it a new poor mans bevel using our Contour tools and copy the gradients from our original logo.

Step 3b:

Now we use the Contour tool to do a simple inline, and copy it to make some gloss.

Step 4b:

Next we give the new icon our standard shadow.

Step 5b:

Once more our last step is to do our standard Reflection.

Finally I'm back here, after having some internet problems (I was out for a month). I'm glad it's all fine as it used to be. Continue like this and we'll have again plenty of fun, something valuable to learn and something nice to put on our desktops.
