Icon 06 (MIDI File)

Today we are going to do something pretty simple. The MIDI file icon. I chose to do this for a few reasons. One, I have the notes I made for the My Music folder yesterday, and I want to see how the reflections in the file icons are going to work.
I have made a video showing how I made this icon, and I tried to explain what I was doing a bit. Due to the fact that I have not used the recording software before, it is not the best quality of video, and for some reason the curser dose not show up; but if you want to see the making of this icon more thoroughly then check it out here:
Making The MIDI Icon.

Step 1:

We start by Copying the Default icon. I change the top panel to green because I am planning on color coding all audio files with a green band.

Then I add the Extension in white. I copy the "TXT" text from the Text File icon and just change the text.

Step 2:

Now I take a "Treble Clef" symbol from my symbols role up and some lines, and place them over my file. Using Intersect I trim them down to fit on the page. Then use the Interactive Transparency tool, and set the overlays to multiply around 50%. Then I tweak the order so the symbol is below the text.

Step 3:

Now using the same technique as in the last few days, I copy the new file, convert it to a bitmap, and fade it out with the Interactive Transparency tool.

Step 4:

Now we grab the some of the notes form the Music Folder we made yesterday, and tweak them so they look a bit different, and change the color.

This is shown better in the video.

Step 5

Now I draw up a shadow mask, and pull a drop shadow off of the notes. Then fade it out with the Interactive Transparency tool.

Step 6:

The last thing is to copy the notes 2 more times, make 2 more bitmaps, Skew and Move them into position, and fade them out with the Interactive Transparency tool, making our 2 remaining reflections.

Ok, hopefully if you watch the video you will see more details on how I did this. I will endeavor to make a better quality video next time.
