Would it be worth the time?
Published on July 1, 2005 By mormegil In OS Customization

While I was doing the Icon-A-Day Icons I realized how many Icons had been added to IconPackager over the last few years. Every once and a while I see screenshots of people using my FauxS-XP Icons or the LaST Icons. It has been some time for me since I have looked at them our updated them. I am wondering if it would be worth my while to do so.

I have 4 colors of LaST Icons, that I could finish up and post. I would have to create something like 15 new Icons to make them IP 3 Complete.

Also The FauxS-X Icons are getting a bit dated. But with a bit of work I could go through and update them to include all the IP 3 Icons, as well as make sure they all have 128x128 version.

I don't want people to think I am just trying to get more downloads, or trying to avoid doing anything new. The Icon-A-Day Pack is just freshly posted and It will be about a month more before I can post the Atlas Suite. So this came to mind.

More or less I am asking to see if the demand is there, and if so witch packs would be most requested for a update? Let me know what you think?

Absolutely update all of 'em. I'm being selfish....sorry. I realize that would be a lot of work to update all those IP suites, but they are my favorites. So, yes, update them

I think everyone would love the updates, Paul. The packs You uploaded are still the best arround. I couldn't inagine any machine of me without them. So just go ahead and do it.

And while we are at it, may I ask for full office icons including access in all packs ? And a generic filemanager (like total commander or explorer²) icon would be great.

The fact that your "download count" increases is only an indication of the quality of your work and how much it is enjoyed by us less talented. If you have the time and ambition, I will surely decorate my desktop with your creations!

You have inspired me to start skinning....I love your icons, so I can only say updates are sure to be popular. (Thanks for all the tutorials BTW)

Counting the days already, Paul.

BTW - the Core WB was looking might tasty in the videos. X-Mas release perhaps?

I would also like to second the idea of a full Office bonus pack (Access, Excel, FrontPage, Info, Outlook, Powerpoint, Project, Publisher, Visio, Word - I think I am forgetting one or two). I am going to try my hand at making the missing pieces for the IconADay series for personal use, but you are the master.

Personally, I think you should expand upon the Icon-A-Day icons with various bonus packs.

I have more Icon-A-Day Icons to come, just not as often. Should be posting 2 more this weekend.

for some reason I'm totally lost on all the icons people have mentioned in here, atlas for example or the utopia *surprise*, not to mention whatever "core" is....
I am so out of the loop it seems.

I for one would gladly accept any icon you make though

Well, that sounds interesting

I've never thought the FauxS-XP icons were dated or anything. Even now, they're still one of the more elegant icon sets I've seen. Not that I'd complain if there were an update though

Always looking forward to your work, especially the icons!
