Notes:
And so the fun begins
This was my first set of Yasso 800's, this week I did 4 repeats, no real problems, It was hard, but not harder then one can expect from any kind of speedwork. Next week it is 5 repeats, and so on, until week 12. The idea behind this is that If you can get to 10 repeats at your goal time of say 3minutes and 30 seconds, you should be able to run a marathon in 3 hours and 30 minutes.
I can pretty confidently say that 5 or 6 repeats should not be a problem, but January is going to be hard. If I am in the same condition I am today, and need to do 10 repeats at this pace I will be in trouble. But thats what all this training is for, so I am not in this condition in 4 weeks from now.
Oh well. All I can say now is the next 6 weeks are going to be the hardest I have ever trained, the taper weeks before the marathon will be a welcome relief. |
