New New Blog

New Job, New Blog, So much to learn!

Hello all, and welcome to my new Blog. As some of you will know I have been arrowed in the Skinning community for quite some time now ( www.fauxs-x.com or https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?AuthorID=299 ) I am known best for my Icons, but I do a bit more then that. For the last 3 years I have been working for the Walt Disney Corporation as a Computer Artist. But as of the 2nd of September I have become a member of the Stardock team. And so far it is working out great.

Mostly I have been learning, lots of new things, here at Stardock. Doing some Concept sketches, (See Below) and learning 3DS. Max. I am not very experienced in the 3D design world, so I have a lot to learn. Over the last two weeks I have been learning a lot about texture mapping.

Hard to believe Im getting paid to draw spaceships.

One of the new Battleships for Galciv II.

I intend to keep this blog up, daily if possible. And I will try and make it look a bit better as time goes buy.

That is a nice ship Paul. You've got some handy skills. It's kind of nice to be able to see this phase of contruction. I think as you learn more about 3D, we all do. Thanks for the post! I love the images.

Those look great, Paul! Nice to see you back in action. I hope moving went OK for you.

Owww. Texture mapping. That's fun. Wait until the real fun starts with mipmapping and reusable tiles. The graphic artists at a game company I worked for hated those.

3DSM is a challenge, isn't it? Lot's to learn!

Succes.

Hi Mormegil,

Great to see you active at Stardock. By the way, what kind of work did you make at Walt? Can you show us something?

Regards,
